Urgent: Crisis at Fashion Curve Factory in Jordan. Workers Plead for Help

June 11, 2007  |  Share

Dear Sirs,

We, 80 workers, have been working for Fashion Curve at Al-Tajamouat Industrial City in Jordan for more than two and half years. We could not get our salary, overtime and other benefits according to Jordanian labor laws. We used to go the factory at 8.00am and returned home at 11.00 pm-12.00 midnight. But unfortunately we are cheated on our overtime pay. Many times we had agreements with the company regarding this issue but have no results. At one stage we had movement to realize our demands.

For the last 45 days the company has stopped food, cut the power cables. One of our colleagues named Mustafa died without any medical treatment. He was from Tangail District of Bangladesh.  Two workers namely Mr. Uzzal—passport number- X 0341205 and Mr. Afzal Hossain—passport number R 0512890 were sent to jail for making demands.

We complained to the labor court but in vain. Even the Bangladeshi Embassy is not responding to our requests. We are fight here to win our rights. We want to return home as soon as possible. Please help us get back home immediately.
